Serious skin care starts with a serious regimen that you follow morning, noon and night. If you don't want to have a leathery and wrinkly face by the time you're thirty, I suggest that you use a good facial moisturizer every morning with at least a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. Since the majority of skin damage is a direct result of unprotected sun exposure, make sure you're always covered with enough SPF to remain wrinkle free. Surprisingly enough, most of the sun you get isn't on days when you're outside enjoying a BBQ or playing frisbee. Instead, most of it is caused by incidental exposure. This means you get sun spots from the rays you catch taking the groceries to your car, checking the mail and walking the dog.

Besides a good moisturizer with an SPF of 15 or more, serious skin care also includes a good cleanser. Make sure you wash the old make up and oil accumulated throughout the day off each night, then again in the morning. This will cut down on clogged and enlarged pores. There's nothing more unattractive than a person whose pores are bigger than my studio apartment. A huge reason to avoid enlarged pores is the fact that once they're enlarged, there's nothing you can do to shrink them down. If your pores are big now, the only thing you can do is try to keep them from getting bigger.

Another thing you should do is exfoliate. Serious skin care means sloughing off dead skin cells that make your face look dull and flaky.
